What I Learned From Chloe

Last week Sunday, I hosted a birthday party to celebrate Chloe’s third birthday party. The truth is that I was so busy with work that I left myself very little time to plan. In fact, I had two weeks to do the following:

  1. Design and send out birthday invitations

  2. Book a birthday entertainer

  3. Determine the theme and party bags

  4. Plan a menu for 50 people

Originally, the party was supposed to be outside in our garden but it decided to rain. I was distraught; I planned for everything to be outside and even hired a bubbleologist for an hour. But everyone brought out his or her umbrellas, put on his or her rain boots, and reminded me that the party must continue. I was overwhelmed with everyone’s love and easy going attitude. Chloe was smiling and was so happy to be with her friends. She taught me that sun doesn’t make a party; it’s the people who are willing to be by your side even when your plans shift. So thank you Chloe for letting me know that all you need is love!

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
