Reunited and It Feels So Good

Last week I was able to spend time with my lovely friend, Erica. Erica and I have known each other since 2008 when we moved to London to be a part of the Goldman Sachs City Fellowship Programme. It is crazy that the last time that I saw Erica was in 2018 when we were in New Orleans for our dear friend’s (Felicia) wedding. It is so true when they say that the days seem long but the years are shorter. Despite the seven year gap, we continue to stay in touch in our dedicated WhatsApp group but nothing beats an in-person catch up. We talked about everything under the sun and tried to find the positive in a world that is so chaotic. It was nice to show her around my neighbourhood and take her to the local pub to treat her to fish and chips, a pint, and sticky toffee pudding. I was so grateful that although Erica’s trip was to relax that she spent her first day with me and Chloe. As I get older, I realise that life is not about material possessions but it is about having a community of good people and I am pleased that Erica has been in my community for 17 years and counting. So cheers to good friends that although you do not see them all the time, you know that the love is real. Looking forward to seeing you in your territory soon my love.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
