Mother’s Day Reflection

Last week Sunday, 10th March 2024, we celebrated Mother’s Day in the UK. It was nice to be able to spend time with my mom who was visiting from Miami, Florida. The past few weeks were eventful to say the least. Last month I fell down the stairs and injured my knee and my daughter, Chloe, had chicken pox. My mom and husband were amazing in stepping in and stepping up to take care of me and my daughter. It was nice that we were able to enjoy brunch in Greenwich at our favourite spot, Grind. We laughed, reflected on recent events, and celebrated because we see that Chloe is growing up and was able to entertain herself so that we could enjoy our meal. This was a huge milestone compared to the year before when we had to take turns walking her around the restaurant. Though I was disappointed because I wanted to do more with my mom while she was visiting; I am grateful that we were able to spend time together by eating meals, going to museums, and watching Griselda and Love is Blind Season 6 (don’t judge us) on Netflix. I am forever grateful for my mother and her continued dedication to me and my family. Love you mom and thank you for everything. You are the real MVP.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
