Happy Birthday Pappa Bear

Wishing my dad, Clive Sterling, a very happy birthday! My dad has given me great advice over the years. From a young age, my dad taught me the importance of being humble. He said that you should have the ability to hang with kings and queens but always maintain the element of a common man. What this means is that you should be able to hang out with anyone from all walks of life but never think that you are above anyone. I learned that life is a pendulum. One minute you can sit high and the next minute you can hit the ground and have to start from nothing. I have seen people in politics and in the corporate world who have gained favour and lost favour very quickly. While it is not nice to witness, it has always humbled me and made me realise that no one is immune from a change in sentiment. I also want to thank my dad for his tough love, though I struggled to appreciate it. My dad’s tough love made me the resilient and resourceful woman I am today. I love that my dad and I can talk about anything from politics to philosophy. So cheers to you Pappa Bear for seeing another year. Enjoy some Wray and Nephew. Love you always!

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
