Go Where You Are Celebrated
The birthday celebration continues. One of my dearest friends who I met in 2009 took me out to my favourite restaurant, Christopher’s, for a birthday brunch. She is the type of friend who although I do not get to speak to her regularly because we do not live nearby; she is always there for me when I need her and I am the same for her. As a result of us being friends over the years; her family is my extended family. Whenever her mom visits from Peru; she brings something for me and now Chloe. As I get older; I give my time and energy to the people who are consistent. The truth is that as we get older sometimes our friendship circle changes. It is not a bad thing; it is just a part of life. Some of my friendships have changed over the years for various reasons. When some friendships ended or changed in dynamic; I realised that some people are in your life for a reason; season; or a lifetime. It is so important to realise that when people show you who they are; believe them. Do not push for something that has ran its course; instead spend time with the people who pour into you as you pour into them. So remember that it is a part of life when things have ran their course but instead of using your energy dwelling on that just go where you are celebrated. Life is too short!
