Give Back To The Community

Since 2019; I have volunteered for Food Cycle. Food Cycle is a charity whose vision is to make food poverty, loneliness, and food waste a thing of the past for every community. As a volunteer you can either work in the kitchen or work as a host who serves the food. Food Cycle’s model involves grocery stores donating food that can no longer be sold but is still edible. The volunteers in the kitchen will prepare a three course vegetarian or vegan meal. Last month I volunteered at the Woolwich Community Centre. We served a three course meal to almost 50 people. It never gets old the smiles; the warm welcome; and the gratitude. This is what life is about. It is important to take time out; give back to the community; and be the change that you want to see. I encourage you to take time out and give back to your community. The feeling is priceless.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
