It’s Been A Long Time

It has been a while since I shared my thoughts. This is because I was extremely busy with work and got sick. It is amazing how your body will tell you to stop. July was an extremely busy month for me because my team prepares and submits a number of regulatory returns to our regulators across Europe, Middle East, and United States of America. In addition to that, we are setting up a new team in Chennai, India which involves a lot of training and meetings to track progress. I was also training for the JP Morgan 5K race in Battersea Park. Finally, July is also a special month because it is Chloe’s birthday month. I still didn’t have any concrete plans for her birthday because I was too “busy”. While trying to spin several plates; my body crashed. I had to take a couple of days off from work. During my time off; I slept for hours. It is so important to prioritise your well-being. I am guilty of being “booked and busy” but as a I get older I realise that I have to remember that I am one person and I cannot take on the world by myself. There is a reason for having a team to delegate and being a part of a communiy to recharge. So my advice is to make sure that you actively embed rest in your schedule or there is a chance that your body will crash and make you rest.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
