Happy Lunar New Year
Last week I had the opportunity to celebrate Chinese New Year with my good friend, Joy, and some of her friends. It also happened to land near her first anniversary with her husband, Simon. We went to Mandarin Kitchen, an amazing Chinese restaurant, in West London. The set up was a family style table and we selected dishes for everyone’s dietary needs. I was really pleased with the vegetarian options. We talked about everything under sun including the current political landscape in the UK and the US. Despite the volatility and uncertainty, we all remained hopeful and chose to focus on our many blessings such as good friends, good health, and the many opportunities we have been afforded. We ended the night reading our fortunes from the fortune cookies. My fortune was very timely. It said that “it is better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly.” As an insecure type A, I am too often worried about perfection. However, what matters is execution. So cheers to the Lunar New Year, the year of the snake, and hope that all welcomed with love, health, and prosperity.
