AKA Founders’ Day

Today, we honor the legacy of the Original Nine Founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® (AKA). These trailblazing Howard University students created a sisterhood dedicated to "Service to All Mankind." On this Founders' Day, we celebrate the sorority's growth to more than 1,064 chapters and over 355,000 initiated members across 12 countries. AKA is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college educated women. I am proud to be a member of this illustrious organization. I became a member in Spring 2002 at University of Florida. I’m dating myself :-) I look forward to celebrating with my Sorors in London later this month. Will definitely share the highlights!

Renee Sterling

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
